All evidence indicates the Horners were German. Old documents were in German, so were the Bibles. Possibly they came from Bavaria. The name Horner is English or German-one who made horn spoons, one who blows a horn, a trumpeter-descendant of Hornher. They were probably members of the Church of the Brethren, Tunkers, German Baptists, although they might have been Lutheran.
