Norman Osgood Cilley was born on 22 February 1906 at Lee, Strafford, New Hampshire.^1,2 He was the son of Herbert Jacob Cilley and Emma Louise Ryan.¹ He married Stella Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Jesse H. Smith and Lydia M. Holman, on 30 August 1930.¹ He died on 20 September 1982 at Exeter, Rockingham, New Hampshire, at age 76.¹ He was buried in September 1982 at Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket, Rockingham, New Hampshire.

     Norman and Stella lived in Newmarket since their marriage, most of the time on Grant, formerly Epping Road. Norman worked for more than thirty years as a plumber-steamfitter at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. During his last years he received much enjoyment out of operating a business out of his home entitled "Dry Hill Antiques". He would purchase contents of barns, garages, attics, basements and process for resale. Customers would come from many miles around to search, swap, sell, haggle, purchase something old or new, or just to visit.⁶
