     Sarah C. Dow was born on 11 February 1822 at New Hampshire.2,3 She was the daughter of Phineas Dow and Betsey Hoyt.1 She married Samuel B. Cilley, son of Abraham B. Cilley and Rebecca Dow, on 11 May 1843 at Northwood Narrows, Rockingham, New Hampshire.1 She married Jonathan E. Whitcher.4 She died on 2 February 1891 at age 68.3 She was buried in 1891 at Harvey Lake Cemetery, Northwood, Rockingham, New Hampshire.3

     Sarah C. Dow and Samuel B. Cilley appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Northwood enumerated 24 June 1870.6
     Sarah C. Dow and Jonathan E. Whitcher appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Northwood enumerated 12 June 1880, Jonathan, 65, was a farmer and Sarah, 58, was keeping house. They lived alone on their farm.7
