Adelaide Ayres Haines was born on 13 January 1813 at New Hampshire.^1,2 She was the daughter of Abner Haines and Elizabeth P. Ayres.¹ She married Reverand Daniel Plumer Cilley, son of Daniel Cilley and Hannah Plumer, on 13 January 1836 at Andover, Essex, Massachusetts.¹ She died in 1896.³

     Adelaide Ayres Haines and Reverand Daniel Plumer Cilley appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Manchester, Hillsborough, New Hampshire, enumerated 14 August 1850, age 45, a minister, his wife Adelaide, age 36, two children Clinton A (13), Adelaide (8). Other members include Harriet Haines (possibly the sister of Adelaide), Nancy Helia and J. A. Pacotelli. All born in New Hampshire.²
     Adelaide Ayres Haines and Reverand Daniel Plumer Cilley appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Farmington, Strafford, New Hampshire, enumerated 8 June 1860, aged 54, Daniel is a clergyman for the Free Baptist Church with a personal estate value of $800. Adelaide, his wife, is 45 years old and there are three children in the household, Adelaide, Daniel and J. Bradbury.⁴
     Adelaide Ayres Haines and Reverand Daniel Plumer Cilley appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Patterson, Caldwell, North Carolina, enumerated 23 July 1870, aged 64, a clergyman with a personal estate valued at $1000, his wife Adelaide, age 57 is keeping house. Joseph P, 14, is living there.⁵
     Adelaide Ayres Haines and Reverand Daniel Plumer Cilley appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Farmington enumerated 12 June 1880, Daniel, age 74, is a clergyman and has returned to Farmington with his wife, Adelaide (67) and son Joseph (24). His daughter Adelaide has married John Waldron and they have an 8 year old daughter, Adelaide C. They are living in Daniel's household.⁶
