Barker Lapham Hills was born on 28 October 1808 at Northfield, Merrimack, New Hampshire.1 He was the son of Timothy Hills and Elizabeth "Betsey" Lapham.1 He married Mary Ann Cilley, daughter of John Cilley and Betsey Hill, on 7 January 1835 at Northfield.1 He died on 20 June 1895 at Campton, Grafton, New Hampshire, at age 86.1
Barker Lapham Hills and Mary Ann Cilley appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Campton enumerated 12 August 1850, Barker, 41, and Mary, 36, owned real estate valued at $1500. Elizabeth and Daniel were part of the household.2
Barker Lapham Hills and Mary Ann Cilley appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Campton enumerated 2 June 1860, Barker, 51, a farmer and Mary, 45, had real estate valued at 2000 and their personal estate was $780. Daniel, 15, was living with them.3
Barker Lapham Hills and Mary Ann Cilley appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Campton enumerated 10 June 1870, Barker, 61, was a farmer and Mary A., 55, was keeping house, they had real estate valued at $2400 and a personal estate of $1215. Son Daniel was still living with them with his occupation being farmer.4
Barker Lapham Hills and Mary Ann Cilley appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Campton enumerated 10 June 1880, Barker, age listed as 46 (should be 71), was a farmer and Mary, age listed as 44 (should be 65) was keeping house. Their son Daniel, age listed as 23 (he should be 35), a farmer was also listed as part of the household.5
