Richard Sinclair Sr.1

Richard Sinclair Sr. was born on 3 December 1731.2 He married Polly Cilley, daughter of Captain Joseph Cilley and Alice 'Else' Rawlins.1 He died on 27 July 1813 at Barnstead, Belknap, New Hampshire, at age 81.2

Was a Major of the Continental Army. Commanded a company in Sullivan's brigade 1778. He served in the defense of West Point, 1780, in Col. Thomas Bartlett's regiment, and was promoted major under Col. Joseph Badger. He died at Barnestead, Vt. He had four sons in the war.
