     James Dearborn Butler Esq. was born on 9 November 1842.2 He was the son of James Hersey Butler and Mary Hersey Dearborn.2 He married Sarah Hersey Cilley, daughter of John Osgood Cilley and Henrietta Butler, on 16 June 1869.1 He died on 13 November 1877 at age 35.2 He was buried at Nottingham, Rockingham, New Hampshire.3
     
     Graduated at Harvard College in 18__, practiced law in Portsmouth.2
