     Ann F. Southgate was born circa 1835 at Vermont.2,1 She was the daughter of Benjamin F. Southgate and Harriet H. (?).1 She married Sylvester Cilley, son of Charles Sargent Cilley and Susan (?), on 20 November 1855 at Woodstock, Windsor, Vermont.3
     
     Ann F. Southgate appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Bridgewater, Windsor, Vermont, in the household of Benjamin F. Southgate and Harriet H. (?), she is 16 years old, born in Vermont, attending school.4
     Ann F. Southgate and Sylvester Cilley appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Bridgewater enumerated 21 June 1860, Sylvester, 29, born in Vermont, a farm hand with real estate valued at $500 and personal property of $100; Ann, 20, born in Vermont; household members are Nellie.5
     Ann F. Southgate and Sylvester Cilley appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Bridgewater enumerated 14 July 1870, Sylvester, 38, born in Vermont, a wheelwright with real estate valued at $1000 and personal property of $400; Ann, 35, born in Vermont; household members are Nellie, Mary, Kate and Alice; also living here are Ann's parents, B. F. and Hannah Southgate and her sister Jennie.1
     Ann F. Southgate and Sylvester Cilley appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Bridgewater enumerated 24 June 1880, Sylvester, 48, born in Vermont, a carpenter; Ann, 45, born in Vermont; household members are Mary, and Alice; also living here is Ann's aunt, Mary E. Davis, 80 years old and a widow.2
