Sherburn Alonzo Cilley was born on 9 April 1825 at Vermont.¹ He married Elsie Moira VanEtten, daughter of Absolom VanEtten and Cathalyntje Dietrich.¹ He died on 1 March 1863 at Brooklyn, New York, at age 37.¹ He was buried at Friends Cemetery, New York, New York.¹
