Loren B. Cilley was born circa 26 January 1832 at Maine.2,3 He was the son of Isaac B. Cilley and Betsy Blake.1 He married Lucinda Dow circa 1852 at Atkinson, Piscataquis, Maine. He married Louisa B. Hobbs, daughter of William Hobbs.4 He died on 3 December 1901 at Atkinson.2,5 He was buried at North Atkinson Cemetery, Atkinson, Piscataquis, Maine.2

Hobbs appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Atkinson enumerated 16 June 1860, Laurin, age 28, born in Maine, a farmer with real estate valued at $350 and personal property of $160; Lovica (Lousia) is age 22 and born in Maine; household members are Edwin, Irene, and William.6

Loren B. Cilley appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Atkinson enumerated 16 June 1900, Lorin, age 68, born in Maine, a widower, a farmer.8 As of 3 December 1901, Loren B. Cilley was also known as Laurin B. Cilley.2

Loren B. settled on a farm adjoining his father's property when he was 21 years old, since which time he has industriously followed agriculture. He has rendered his share of service to the town in a public capacity, having been a member of the Board of Selectmen for six years. In politics he is a Democrat. His wife Louisa, who is a daughter of William Hobbs, became the mother of five children: namely Edwin R. , Irene B., William B., Minnie E., and Herbert L. Irene B. married C.L. Hoyt, of Dover and Minnie E. is the wife of Arthur Tewksbury, of the same town.5
