Major Jacob Cilley was born on 19 July 1773.1 He was the son of General Joseph Cilley and Sarah Longfellow.1 He married Harriet Poor, daughter of General Enoch Poor and Martha Osgood, on 8 January 1801.1 He died on 29 January 1831 at age 57.1,2 He was buried at Gen. Joseph Cilley Cemetery, Nottingham, Rockingham, New Hampshire.2
He served as Major in the militia, Civil Magistrate, and held many town offices at different periods, and was a member of the State Legislature in 1802-3-6-7-8-10-12-13.1
