Jasper H. Cilley
Old friends in Orange and Canaan learned with sorrow of the passing away of Jasper H. Cilley at his home in East Derry Tuesday morning, death resulting from septic meningitis following a carbuncle. Mr. Cilley was a native of Orange and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Cilley, being born Aug 26, 1859. He was employed on the railroad for a number of years and removed to E. Derry in 1913, where he had followed the occupation of farming.
Three sons Leon J. of E. Derry, Leonard W. of East Concord and Clesson J. of Hudson., survive besides the widow.
Funeral services were held Thursday from the E. Derry Congregational church, the three sons and a grandson acting as pall-bearers. Mrs. F.R. True (Katie B. Cilley) and Mrs. George Hale (Della Martin), two nieces, attended from Concord. The remains were brought here in the evening for interment in the Orange cemetery the coming spring.
