The Revolutionary War Rolls of New Hampshire have several entries pertaining to Capt. Cilley's service record:

"A return of Capt. Cutting Cielly's Company at Pierce's Island, Novr 5th 1775-
Cutting Cielly, Capt.
Joseph Morrill, 1st Lieut.
Phillip Bartlett, 2d Lieut.
Ebenr Tilton, Ensign"

also includes names of four 'serjeants', four corporals, one drummer, one fifer and twenty seven privates a total of forty men under the command of Captain Cilley (State 1885:231).

Under the heading "Summary of Service in 1777" we find:

"Captain Cutting Cilley's company, raised in May, at same place a little more than a month," (State, 1886:433). Also, the same date "Abstract of a Pay Roll for Capt. Cutting Cilley's Company raised May 1777 for one month to guard the Sea Coast of the State of New Hampshire," from a copy at the National Archives and Records Service, Washington, D.C.

The records (State, 1889:140) reveal another item of interest:

"[Captain Cilley's Receipt for Bread] Hampton June ye 6-1777- recd of Jeremiah Knowles who Being apointed By the Commeserry of this State to find Bred for my Company recd one hundred and nintey Eight pounds of Bred
Cutten Cilley Capt"

And lastly, the records (State, 1885:_____):

"Order for Pay
Docr Caleb Greenleaf Adams Paymaster to Capt Cilleys Company and others Sr Please to pay to Ensgn John Lane of Sd Company one months wages and the travel Money which is due to us the Subsribers for a months Service in this State which may fully appear by the Capts rowl of sd Company for Value Recvd per us
Exeter June 19h 1777
